TopSpec Turbo Flakes are formulated to include cereal grains and therefore, provide ‘fast-releasing’ energy. This highly innovative muesli blend is the ultimate high-performance feed, with 35% more digestible energy per kg than quality oats. Turbo Flakes have been formulated to replace traditional cereals e.g. oats, or the energy and protein component of ordinary cereal-based cubes/mixes, where additional stamina or performance is required.
They consist of cooked, high-oil, naked oats blended with cooked, full-fat soya, and they have an exceptional DE of 16 MJ/kg as fed.
Turbo Flakes are cooked to maximise their digestibility and to retain palatability over a long period of time. Rich in intracellular oil*, and with no added liquid oil, the sweetened ‘non-greasy’ flakes are very palatable to optimise feed intake, which is particularly useful at peak performance levels. Fed at 5kg/day, Turbo Flakes provide the equivalent of 550ml of soya oil, eliminating the need for additional liquid oil.
*Turbo Flakes are full of naturally oil-rich ingredients. These contain intracellular oil. This is oil that occurs within the cells of a plant. Intracellular oil is a very palatable and highly digestible way of providing oil in the diet.
Turbo Flakes are designed to be added to a TopSpec feed balancer or TopSpec All-in-One multi-supplement and therefore contain no added vitamins or trace-elements. That is why we call them a ‘blend,’ because they are a blend of straight raw materials rather than a complete feed.
Salt, magnesium oxide and limestone are added to the blend to provide optimum levels of sodium, magnesium, and calcium, thus overcoming the major problems associated with the use of straights. For example, feeding Turbo Flakes instead of oats to hard working horses, reduces or eliminates the need to add salt.
Turbo Flakes are suitable for:-
- Flat and NH racehorses in work; when fed with Racing Feed Balancer, it forms a complete, nutrient-dense feed for racehorses.
- All horses requiring extra ‘fast-release’ energy; when fed with Comprehensive Feed Balancer, it forms a complete, nutrient-dense feed for competition horses.
- Horses requiring more energy but already at their feed intake limit.
