THIS year’s Royal International Horse Show proved a huge success for horses and ponies fed on TopSpec with the North Yorkshire based team delighted at so many outstanding results.
Cheshire-based showman Robert Walker and his wife Sarah, are certainly having a season to remember but they were more than overjoyed when their daughter Issy won the 122cm Show Hunter Pony with Redlays Thesesus.
The Heavyweight Hunter, Patrics Choice took the honours in his section with Robert in the saddle while team Walker reigned supreme in the Hack classes. Parkgate Royal Visit William, ridden by Robert took first in the Small Hack and then went on to claim Supreme Hack Champion, while Forgelands Hydepark headed the Large Hack class and took the Reserve Supreme Hack Champion with Sarah on board.
It was Sarah’s turn again in the cob classes when Red Butler won the Lightweight Cob section before being awarded Supreme Cob Champion.
Produced by Team Walker, Merrycorner Mister Bui, ridden by Zara Brookes secured the 153cm Show Hunter Pony before becoming Supreme Show Hunter Pony Champion.
Vicky Smith was on form in the coloured classes with Freckleton High Flyer winning the Skewbald & Piebald (plaited) Lightweight Ridden Horse and Bart, heading the Skewbald & Piebald (plaited) Middleweight/Heavyweight Ridden Horse before going Reserve Skewbald & Piebald Ridden Horse Champion.
Doolin Dancer claimed the Middleweight Hunter and Reserve Ridden Hunter Championship for Wayne Thorneycroft before he took the Large Riding Horse and Reserve Championship with First Man.
Buckinghamshire-based Jayne Ross secured the Lightweight Hunter section with Temple Ogue before taking the Ridden Hunter Championship in the international arena. A win with Wall Street in the Small Hunter section provided another successful show for Jayne.
Kelly Ward and Bloomfield Incognito headed the Lightweight Working Hunter class while the Team Jinks produced Noble Kings Speech, ridden and owned by Amy Jones secured the Small Amateur Hunter section.
Yorkshire-based Craig Elenor Equestrian produced the Matilda Holmes ridden,
Royalview Charisma to win the 128cm Show Pony while Northamptonshire-based Katy Marriot Payne, took the winner’s rosette in the M&M Ridden Open (Dartmoor, Exmoor & Shetland) with Salcombe Starhole Bay.
Woodview Jovial Joker, ridden by Mollie Jeffreys headed the 143cm Working Hunter Pony section before going on to stand WHP Champion while Hilin Hynod, ridden by Daisy Trebble and owned by Lady Emma Trebble secured the First Ridden Pony section.
Skaergaardens Delicious Love, ridden by Jo Jack and owned by Vanessa Compton claimed first in the M&M Open Ridden (Newforest & Connemara) and there was a double for Sarison Heavenly Silk, ridden by Issabella Odonnell, and owned by Sharon Harrison taking first in the Intermediate Small Show Riding Championship before being ridden by Lucy Glover, to head the Large Ridden Anglo and Part-Bred Arab class.
