CHELMSFORD-based Bobby Hayler is the winner of the prestigious 2012 TopSpec Dressage Scholarship.Young Rider and Grand Prix dressage star Bobby (20) has had much success this season already competing three horses across different levels in the UK and abroad.Her rides; Luderitz, a 12-year-old gelding, is currently competing at the U25 Grand Prix level with Active Walero, a 22 year-old-gelding, competing at Young Rider level as part of team GB. Bobby is also training the eight-year-old gelding, Diamond Jubilee at Advanced Medium and Prix St George level.Said Bobby: "I am over the moon to have won this year’s TopSpec Dressage Scholarship. To have the support and nutritional advice from them is a huge bonus.”Bobby’s prize includes £500 worth of TopSpec feed, £500 to be spent on dressage training with an accredited trainer and £500 worth of TopSpec horse and rider clothing.Added Bobby: "I am aiming to compete at the U25 Championships in the Grand Prix with Luderitz and to qualify and compete Diamond Jubilee for the Winter Regionals next year."After the busy summer months I hope to go out to Germany to work with top trainer and dressage rider Monica Theodorescu. This will set me in good stead for the 2013 season.”The 2012 TopSpec Dressage Scholarship also saw a runner-up place awarded to Essex-based rider Bethany-Rose Horobin, aged just 14, who has her sights firmly set on the top in pony Dressage and securing her place on the Pony European Dressage Team.
