NOTTINGHAM-based Zoe Brenan is the winner of the prestigious 2012 TopSpec Eventing Scholarship.Following on from last years’ success, winning team and individual gold at the Junior European Championships in Portugal, Zoe (18) was selected as part of the Young Rider winter A squad.Zoe has had two horses to campaign this season, the eight-year-old Latino K and full brother, the four-year-old Romano K who is just starting his career.Said Zoe: "I was so pleased when I heard I had won this year’s TopSpec Eventing Scholarship, it is brilliant to be recognised."This year I have been working hard to move up to Advanced level by the end of the season with Latino K and I am very pleased with the progress and development we are making."To have good quality nutrition and the correct feed regimes for the horses is part and parcel of developing a good team and this season my horses will really benefit from the very best expertise.”Zoe’s prizes include £500 of TopSpec feed; plus supplements and additives, a cross-country training bursary of £500, horse and rider clothing, and ongoing nutritional support from an experienced TopSpec nutritionist."The nutritional advice and training bursary will be invaluable. I have two talented horses and feel very lucky to now have support from TopSpec as well,” she added.Zoe is hoping Romano K will follow in his brother’s footsteps and be successful in the Burghley Young Event Horse classes.The 2012 TopSpec Eventing Scholarship also awarded a runner-up place to Scottish-based rider Daniel Scott, who has his sights firmly set on the top and a place on the British Young Rider team.
