CHESHIRE-based show producers David Jinks and Adam Forster have had a great start to the season.The duo, known as Team Jinks, have around 30 horses and ponies to compete and train from their yard near Nantwich and both have many years’ experience in the world of showing.David worked for leading showman, Robert Walker, producers Sarah and Peter Emmerson and Ron and Debbie Thomas before establishing the business with Adam who was previously based with Carl Hester, the Emmersons and David Tatlow.Bringing their skills together in 2014, David and Adam also recognise the important part correct feeding plays and with the support of TopSpec all the horses and ponies have their own feed regime.Said David: "Show horses and ponies need to be in great condition, well covered but not fat and their coats and skin must gleam which also comes from within."We thoroughly enjoy getting a raw youngster in the yard seeing it develop, grow and mature and then watching it for the first time in a show ring, all helped by the right feeding and management."The TopSpec range is just fantastic and we are especially huge fans of TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer, TopSpec Linseed Mash and TopChop Sport but there is a feed for all the horses and ponies on the yard who all look in great condition.”With their exciting team for 2019, David and Adam have already had a number of notable successes and wins.Shildons Plan B, the Intermediate Show Riding Type and Hack owned by Vicki Rudd and shown by Charlotte Elliott-Grooby has been in great form taking the Intermediate Championship at Royal Bath & West.With Adam this talented youngster was also Hack Champion at Area 2A in Cheshire, qualifying for the Royal International Horse Show.Another star of the yard is the 138cm Show Pony, Stretcholt New Dimension owned by Louise Caulfield and ridden by her daughter 13-year-old daughter, Charlotte.Champion Restricted at the BSPS Winter Championships, this youngster in the first season of showing has since gone on to qualify for the Royal International and take to outdoor showing like a dream.A Reserve Champion at Area 15A in Essex they took the Reserve Show Pony title after the championship went to another of the team’s ponies, the 148cm Show Pony, Romanno Hotspot.Owned by Leanne Morgan, and ridden by her daughter Eva, they are another pair heading to Hickstead in both the show pony categories and the Part Bred Arab.A new coloured pony to the yard and one who quickly gained many fans is Llyn Rhyn Krystal, a Native Pony Traditional, ridden by Adam and owned by Rhian Jones from Wales.The pair finished Overall Reserve Supreme of Show at Hambleton before going on to qualify for the Horse of the Year Show at Royal Bath & West.Holmestones Tailor Made the Large Hack and Large Intermediate Riding Type has continued the success gained last year with wins and championships already secured this year with Adam in the saddle for hack classes and Charlotte Elliott-Grooby taking the reins in the intermediates.Said Adam: "We really do have a fantastic team this year, with great owners, riders and sponsors which makes all the hard work and early mornings so worthwhile."Qualifying horses and ponies for the Royal International and Horse of the Year Show is always a great achievement and our season plans and schedule is going well and we couldn’t wish to be doing anything else.”
